Archaeological Excavations at Eyreville: A 17th Century Plantation at Cherrystone Inlet.
Speaker: Mike Clem, Eastern Regional Archaeologist at the Virginia Department of Historic Resources
Wednesday, February 13th
10:30 a.m.
Cost: FREE

Mike received a call about the discovery of a collection of artifacts that may have been of historical significance. This type of call is not uncommon for him to receive, and it rarely results in more than an exchange of a few photos and a pleasant chat about local history. This particular call in 2017 was different. There, indeed, was a historically significant site at this location. He suspects that the excavations will continue for years to come. The story of Eyreville keeps growing and evolving.
